Mood board for research

 Advertisers Mood Bored
My mood bored needs to reflect products that will advertise in my magazine due to my target audience. As I am making a music magazine I included product that include music and would be good to advertise in my magazine. I include Spotify and iTunes as these are product which my readers can use to down load music and as my target audience is quite young they are more likely to have devises that they can use to do this. I also included the UEA as many gigs happen there and many of my readers will go to gigs regularly even some of the bands and artists in my magazine my have or will play at the UEA. I also include very know brands like Youtube and the BBC as there are big company's and my target audience would use them / all ready use them a lot.

As my audience is quite young I need to think about there hobbies and the food they eat and what products and company's would I want to advertise in my magazine. This is why I included McDonalds and Pizz Hut. Over young place to drink is Costa and Starbucks. With my music magazine I also included the sponsor Impericon which is a merch website.

I also include many clothing bands and stores from Stussy to Topshop with the sort of music I want to include in my magazine I believe my audience will dress a certain way. I believe that most young people will dress the way they do due to the way the bands and artist they listen to dress. All the advertisement I included were basted around my target audience and the fact my magazine is a music magazine.

Overview of the Magazine Industry

Image result for magazinesThe magazine industry is massive, the latest magazine market dates show that there was a retail copy sale of 151m, 210 new magazines where launched and a retail sale value of £282m.

Some of the top 100 magazines are TV Choice, What's on TV, Take a Break. Many in the top ten are TV and Radio magazines this is due to how many people own a TV and Radio and use to it daily. The more the population own/like something the more they will invest in that magazine. The top sold music magazine based in the UK is Q. Q calls itself 'the worlds greatest magazine' and that is difficult to argue based in the UK. The second it Rolling Stone a US rock music magazine and number 9 is NME. Media magazines have decreased the amount of money the publishing of magazines make per a week. The average UK household weekly spend 0.4 percent of there proportional income in 2008. In 2013 the average UK household weekly now spend 0.31 percent of there proportional income. House holds spend a lot more weekly of there income on on-line magazines with a 0.46 percentage.

Advertisement is worth a lot of money when it comes to magazines the more poplar a magazine is the more big company's will be willing to spend on advertisement. As more and more magazines are making media format of there produced there are more chances for company to get there products advertised. But many company's have over opportunity's to get there products advertised form TV adverts to cinema adverts. The magazine revenue in advertisment was 3.1% (437m) in 2015.

Mood board for research

 Target audience Mood board

As my magazine is for 15-21 year old's who listen to rock, indie and alternative music I need my mood bored to represent the sort of people that will read my magazine form the clothing they wear to the music they listen to. I added band like While She Sleep. Modern Baseball, Moose blood to get the element of rock / pop punk in. With this I also added a image of a gig as my audience will be reading a music magazine it will be highly likely they will like attending gigs. For the indie music I include such bands as The Smiths, Sundara karma, Jamie T. I have also include some alternative bands and artists like Rat Boy, Frankie and the heartstrings, Cry wank. These are all band my audience will know or would be interested in reading and find out about.

I also include films and TV series my audience will have watch or would enjoy watching as they also have a target market 15-21. Bands I would also like to include in my music magazine have also featured in some of these TV series and films. I include the TV series Skins and Misfits as they do include a lot of indie to alternative music with in them but also a lot of my target audience watch them. I added films such as Trainspotting, Breakfast Club and Palo Alto as they are big iconic films and include big iconic styles.

From the films, actors, bands and artist they all are wearing clothing I think would appeal to my target market. All the clothing is very alternative and not main stream very vintage to modern vintage clothing. I believe the people who read my magazine will dress in quite alternative ways due to the way the bands, films and artist they listen / watch dress.

Also it has a massive amount if readers and my magazine it's more likely to do well with a poplar publishing company. I would also like my magazine to be multi media and TimeInc. have massive figures when it comes to websites, video streams and social media.

Beuer publish a wide range of music magazine and radio programs this publishing company would help my magazine to become multi media. Also they do a lot of music based stuff which would benefit my magazine a lot. The magazine I want to make will fit to Q's target market. A lot of Beuer's publishing products and media product match the target market I would like my magazine to be basted around. So my magazine would benefit from Beuer's company as my target audience would already be reading, listening and watching one of Beuer's products.
