How does your media product represent particular social groups?
For my media product/ music magazine (Tide) I choose a target audience of 15-25 from male to female. My magazine is for people that listen to indie, rock and alternative music this means my target audience are a bit alternative them selfs form the way there dress to the bands there listen to. My magazine as represented my target audience in many different ways from challenging to form of other magazine to make is alternative to the gold, black and white colour theme. I have use certain images and colours that will attract both male and female. The bands I have used in my magazine will attract both male and female as my magazine is set on the music that both males and female will listen to under the genera I have chosen.
Due to the fact more of the music in my magazine is alternative I tried to make my magazine as alternative as I could the people that are most draw to reading my magazine will be people that are quite quirky and individual. I have also use people and band that my target audience will want to be/look up to. Demographically my target audience fit in to many section on a scale they are a range between C2, D and E. They fit into many different sections as my target audience is a range of male and female but has quite a low target audience. Also due to my target audiences characteristics they are more likely to be student or be in new work. My target market psychographically are explores. This means they seek discovery, energy, individuality and experience. My target market value difference and adventure there the first to try new brand.
Many of the quality of my magazine I have chosen is draw my target audience into reading my magazine. From the mise-en-sen the whole feel of my magazine is different and alternative I have channelled a lot of conventions to make my magazine different and alternative. I believe this would attract my target audience as they are into the alternative and edgy things. The images I have used from my main cover photo all repent my target market. The photos I have used all have clothing that I know will attract my audience as they will dress a certain way are aspire to dress like the artistes in my magazine. From example my feature article photo is wearing all black, doc shoes and a branded top but I also added a Casio watch and a ring as this is all clothing that my target audience will find attractive. I also have used photos from concerts as this is a horrible I believe my adduce will do a lot go to converts and gigs. These sorts of photos are also took form my target markets perspective like they are watching a band this give them a feel that the magazine is personally made around them. The language I used in my magazine was quite formal but also simple with a sorts of slag to it. I looked at the NME magazine for ideas when I came to my image and I noticed a lot of strong artist who were out spoke, kooky and very operated. I used this when It came to my images as I wanted a strong artist that my target audience could aspire to be like or have a love hate relationship with this artist. This is why I went with Jamie T I tried to show a personality of Noal Gallagher, Liam Gallagher also with a strong outfit to match. All of these images have strong posture, mood facial expressions but are clear and have good lighting.

Also with having this whole strong, alternative vibe I had to use this in my language it had match the artists and band characteristics, this is why I used a lot of quotes that had slang in them or swearing. This will attract my target audience as they aspire to be like this form clothing down to the speech and opinions. My target audience are young and want and want to be different out spoken and music and the artists they listen to are able to do this for them.
I have left out colour that a related to a genera of male or female like blue for a boy as I want my magazine to attract both generals. I used gold, white and black and stoke to those close as they are bright, strong, alternative and different to other magazines. I wanted to stick to these colours to keep my magazine quite strong and clear just like my magazine has the personality of my target audience. I have left out music that they would defiantly not be interested like things that are in the top 40. This would make my magazine quite main stream and not alternative. I haven't focused on a stereotype as my magazine is quite brood on age and music generous.

Tide magazine has the same target audience as NME but there is a lot of differences when I come to attracting are target audience. NME is more of a conventional magazine with 5 coolers and fonts on there front cover but I chose to stick with three and keep it simple. NME has used a very bold image like my magazine that included images that are alternative and out there this will attract to there's and Tides target audience. Tide is more of an out spoken magazine it gets the bands to tell the story's and less on just a person writing an article on a band. NME are reaching out to the same target audience but more for a sub-culters like indie but tide is more for people that don't nessarly come into a sub-culter as they are original. It is clear, outspoken, straight to the point just like how my magazine look and just how my target audience act.
